This is my second year at Hill-Roberts. I came from Fall River where I taught fourth grade for years and before that I taught elementary and middle school in Brockton. I have been in education since 2003 and I can't imagine myself having any other career.
I am a mother which is one of the reasons I enjoy my students so much. I am naturally nurturing and I love watching my students grow and develop in my classroom throughout the year. I have a son who is a Junior at Bridgewater State University, a step-daughter who is in 6th grade, and a 2 year old little girl who keeps me busy the second I leave my students.
I run a classroom that allows my students to be themselves and celebrate their uniqueness. I encourage students to speak their minds in an appropriate and academic way, accept everyone for who they are, and understand that we are one team working together for an entire year. We focus on our strengths, ideas, and giving up is not allowed. In my classroom, we will always find a way for a student to achieve a task. Everyone learns differently and I encourage a classroom full of diverse learners. The words "I can't" are not allowed in my classroom. My response to that is "You can, and you will." We just need to find the way that works best for you!
I always like to keep an open line of communication with families throughout the year so please don't hesitate to contact me, because you will most likely hear from me:)
